Overview
‍Global warming has posed a significant challenge to our planet since humans began generating industrial pollution. I vividly recall coming across numerous propaganda and campaigns aimed at combating the issue of global warming. One aspect that deeply impacted me was witnessing the plight of animals at the North Pole as they suffered the consequences of climate change. These polar bears appeared emaciated, facing habitat loss and succumbing to the effects of human actions over the past century.

Motivated by these observations, I embarked on a creative endeavor to design a typeface that combines polar bears' illustrations with each alphabet letter's shapes. I intended to evoke an emotional connection with the audience. While providing an entertaining experience, I also aimed to raise awareness about the grave problem of global warming and its detrimental impact on polar bears. If this typeface were to materialize as a product, a portion of the proceeds from each item sold would be donated to support the fight against global warming.

The Story
I love designing icons and typefaces, and I created a set of letters depicting polar bears' illustrations. Each alphabet letter intends to make an emotional bond with the audience. I aimed to entertain my viewers while raising awareness about the serious issue of global warming and its impact on polar bears.
Process
Grid
I used a grid system to make sure each typeface was equal shape, and size. I also used a half-circle as a rule for the negative spaces of each letterform. The main goal of this typeface was not readability but abstractly illustrated letters that would bring audience's curiosity. I wanted to capture viewers' attention and make sure they looked close into the letter to figure out my fonts. Therefore they will learn more about the global warming situation along with how this typeface was created.

Next step
The problem was, not many people understand how each character read as alphabetical characters. My next step would be creating more legible version of the typeface instead of only using the iconographic typeface and test them out to make sure it reads as a letters.
